Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #4 Ella Fritts

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#4

Ella Fritts, junior, Lynden Christian

WHY SHE’S #4: No was asked to do more for her team than the 5-foot-10 guard, who could lead the Lyncs on any given night in scoring, rebounding, or dishing out assists — all while guarding the other team’s best player. Her ability to break the press and either hit her deadly pull-up jumper or set up teammates was a major reason LC was one last-second shot away from returning to the Class 1A state finals. Although numbers don’t tell the story of her value, she averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and her all-around play earned her a place on the SB Live 1A all-state first team and the all-Northwest Conference first team.

COACH BRADY BOMBER: “We asked a lot of Ella this season and she was always willing to do whatever was required of her, showing her unselfishness. As our primary ball handler, she was able to successfully balance both, making the game easier for her teammates while also finding ways to score herself. The more you watch her the more you see all of the little things she does that contribute to winning.”
