In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.
#15
Kiki York, senior, Lynden
WHY SHE’S #15: The unsung hero for the Class 2A state champion Lions, the 5-foot-8 forward was the best defender on a team that prided itself on defense. In addition to silencing some of the state’s top scorers, the quiet York was efficient on offense when needed, averaging almost 6 points on 50 percent shooting. She was named to the all-Northwest Conference second team, the WSBCA all-state seniors game and the Whatcom County Seniors Classic.
COACH ROB ADAMS: “A tremendous defender and a sneaky offensive player. She does all the things well that don’t show up in the boxscore.”
