Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #19 Payton Bartl

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#19

Payton Bartl, junior, Nooksack Valley

WHY SHE’S #19: The 5-foot-7 left-hander went from being a solid outside shooter to a dominant all-around guard during the Pioneers’ playoff run. She would finish the season averaging 11 points, almost 3 assists and 2 steals a game, but it was her late-season heroics that helped Nooksack Valley return to the Class 1A state tournament.

COACH SHANE WICHERS: “She really started shooting the ball at the end of the season and became more of a multi-threat player not just from the outside.”
