Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #20 Brooklyn Larrabee

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#20

Brooklyn Larrabee, sophomore, Ferndale

WHY SHE’S #20: Already an all-league volleyball player, Larrabee decided to turn out for basketball for fun after skipping her freshman year, and the Golden Eagles are glad she did. The 5-foot-7 guard was a defensive whiz leading Whatcom players with nearly 6 steals a game and pulling down 4 rebounds. And even though her offense was an afterthought, she still averaged 8 points and was second among county players with almost 4 assists a game — all with a killer smile on her face.

COACH TERRI YOST: “Brooklyn is a competitor. She is tough, gritty and made things happen just with her hustle. She brought a level of intensity with her to every practice and game. Her defense and steals got everyone fired up.”
