Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #21 Kayla Washington

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#21

Kayla Washington, junior, Ferndale

WHY SHE’S #21: Although only 5-foot-4, Washington had the quickness, skills, and basketball IQ to play both point guard and shooting guard at a high level. She averaged nearly 9 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals a game, but it was her competitiveness and hard work that helped drive the Golden Eagles.

COACH TERRI YOST: “Kayla has amazing court awareness and her knowledge of the game made her an offensive threat for us this season. She is a hard worker and shows up every day ready to compete. She is a great teammate and leader both on and off the court.”
