#8

Jemma James, sophomore, Lummi Nation

WHY SHE’S #8: The team’s co-captain has started since she was an eighth-grader and already passed the 1,000-point career milestone this season. The 5-foot-4 point guard keyed the Lummi run-and-gun offense with 14 points and 4 assists a game and wrecked havoc on defense with more than 4 steals and even 5 rebounds a game. For guiding the Lady Blackhawks back to the Class 1B state tournament, she was named the Northwest 1B League player of the year.

COACH DAVID JAMES: “Jemma had another successful season. With scoring responsibilities distributed among the team, she was able contribute in various areas. She led the team in steals and assists per game throughout this season. I can always rely on Jem to give 110 percent effort at both practices and games. Her determination and leadership were standout attributes this season, leading the team to a remarkable season.”
