Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #7 Jillea Fox

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#7

Jillea Fox, junior, Ferndale

WHY SHE’S #7: Despite being the Golden Eagles’ only true inside threat, the hard-working 5-foot-10 forward used her strength and skills to overcame taller opponents and double teams and almost average a double-double. She led Ferndale to the Class 3A playoffs by leading them with 14 points and 9 rebounds a game and was the anchor of their defense with more than 2 steals a game. For her efforts, she was named to the all-Northwest Conference second team.

COACH TERRI YOST: “Jilly had an amazing season this year. Finishing the season with nine double-doubles is a testament to her hard work and love for the game. Her strength, knowledge of the game, and ability to score from anywhere on the floor made her hard to stop offensively.”
