Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #12 Hunter Calloway

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#12

Hunter Calloway, sophomore, Squalicum

WHY HE’S #12: A freshman surprise last season, the smooth 6-foot-3 wing/guard didn’t surprise anyone this season with another outstanding year. Able to create on offense for himself and his teammates, he averaged 15 points and 4 assists. He also was one of the Storm’s top defenders with 2 steals a game and became a team leader even as a youngster on a veteran Squalicum squad. For his efforts, Calloway was named second-team all-Northwest Conference.

COACH DAVID DUNHAM: “Hunter was undoubtedly our most skilled player offensively. He stepped up as a leader and took control of games when we struggled to put points on the board. As a sophomore, he has an incredible upside, and his future looks very bright. Hunter’s ability to complement Marcus (Nixon) on both ends of the floor played a huge role in our success this season, and he was an essential part of our team’s performance.”
