Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #13 Nolan Wright

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#13

Nolan Wright, junior, Sehome

WHY HE’S #13: It’s no surprise that the Mariners’ gridiron quarterback was also their quarterback on the court, where the 5-foot-10 point guard averaged more than 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals a game. But more than that, it was his intensity on both offense and defense all game long that drove Sehome. He was definitely one of those players you hated to face but you loved to have on your team.

COACH BRAD JACKSON: “He is the leader of our team. In the midst of a very trying season, he still started out pretty well. He plays both ends of the floor with determined intensity. His competitiveness is high level, and he normally plays his best against the best competition. He is asked to do a lot with this team and did not have a lot of help. In all the years I have known and coached Nolan, I have never had to get on him to hustle or focus, either in practice or games. He is a top-notch kid.”
