#26
James Hedahl, senior, Meridian
WHY HE’S #26: On a team featuring mostly guards, the 6-foot-6 post was the inside presence Meridian needed on the way to its fourth-place finish at state. He averaged more than 9 points and 6 rebounds all while shooting more than 50 percent from the field. But it was his willingness to do the dirty work in the paint was what made him invaluable to the Trojans.
COACH SHANE STACY: “We are extremely proud of who James has become and what he has done for this program. With injuries, we were down to one post much of the year and his growth emotionally and physically was one of the biggest reasons we were able to have success. His understanding and acceptance of his role on this team as a rebounder and defender showed great humility and showed his understanding of doing things for the greater good.”
