Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #20 Xavier Kelley

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#20

Xavier Kelley, junior, Sehome

WHY HE’S #20: The 6-foot-2 forward was one of the conference’s biggest surprises, coming almost out of nowhere to be the Mariners’ most dependable players on both offense and defense by season’s end. Playing bigger than his size and not afraid of the big moments, Kelley averaged more than 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block a game.

COACH BRAD JACKSON: “Xavier broke out this year. He is a young man who had some outstanding scoring games and came up big in several of our victories. He is an excellent rebounder and recorded several double-doubles. Xavier is another one who loves the game. He is quiet by nature, which sometimes belies his desire to excel and win. He is willing to take and make the big shot.”
