In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#20
Hunter Jones, senior, Meridian
WHY HE’S #20: If you watched the Trojans, you couldn’t miss the high-flying redhead who always seemed to be around the ball. The athletic 6-foot-2 wing averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds a game but just as importantly, as the veteran of the inexperienced Meridian squad his competitiveness and toughness set the tone both on offense and on defense.
COACH SHANE STACY: “Hunter was a double-double versus bigger opponents every night and had a great motor for us on both ends of the court. His consistency in rebounding and defending throughout the season was the key to our success. We went as Hunter went. He was our glue.”
