In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#28
Isaac Lawrence, senior, Sehome
WHY HE’S #28: On a team with multiple offensive weapons, Lawrence was the 3-point specialist averaging almost two per game in addition to 4.4 rebounds. The 6-foot-2 guard’s clutch shooting came at big moments and helped the Mariners reach the state tournament for the second year in a row. Just as importantly, his constant encouragement and willingness to play through painful shin splints at the end of the season inspired his team.
COACH BRAD JACKSON: “We call him ‘Big Shot Bob’ because he always seemed to hit the big shot just at the right time. He was our leading 3-point shooter, a vocal leader, and excellent rebounder.”
