Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #1 Finley Parcher

In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 girls. Each day we featured an outstanding player in our county and counted down until we got to #1 today. We hope you enjoyed following as we honor the best of the best.

#1

Finley Parcher, junior, Lynden

WHY SHE’S #1: What more can be said about the tough 6-foot guard who is already in the GOAT conversation with Susan Anderson and Devin Coppinger — with her senior season still to come? How about she has more state titles (3) and been named Class 2A player of the year (twice), state tournament MVP (twice), and Northwest Conference player of the year (twice) more times in her three-year career than she has defeats (1 loss in 73 games). This season, she averaged 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3.5 assists while shooting 68 percent from the field, 83 percent from the line, and 42 percent from 3-point range. Despite not being flashy and sitting out many a fourth quarter with the Lions comfortably ahead, she was recognized by both VarsityWA and the Tacoma News Tribune as one of the five best players in Washington, naming her to their all-state, all-classification first team. Considered by college recruiting websites as one of the top two juniors in the state, there is nothing she hasn’t done … except decide which college will be blessed with her talent after next season.

COACH ROB ADAMS: “Finley had a solid year considering everyone game-planned to stop her. Her ability to take over a game on both ends of the floor make her an extremely talented player.”

NOTE: Thank you to the coaches and to Tyler Anderson of WhatcomPreps.com for season stats.
