In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.
#4
Ella Fritts, senior, Lynden Christian
WHY SHE’S #4: The 5-foot-10 guard can do it all, averaging 15 points, nearly 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 46 percent from the field, 74 percent from the line, and 41 percent from beyond the arc. But more important than even her skills were the Biola University commit’s determination and leadership in helping guide the Lyncs to four state trophies despite LC’s constant turnover and injuries. The Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association named her the Class 1A player (senior) of the year, VarsityWA named her 1A first-team all-state, and she was once again all-Northwest Conference first team.
COACH BRADY BOMBER: “Ella brings a toughness and determination that shows up in every practice and every game, never backing down from a challenge and consistently pushing herself and those around her to be better. She competes with purpose, plays with consistency, and approaches everything with a team-first mindset.”
