Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #29 Brianna Metteba

In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#29

Brianna Metteba, senior, Lummi Nation

WHY SHE’S #29: Often overshadowed by her flashier teammates, the 5-foot-4 guard with the flashy smile was as steady as anyone, averaging nearly 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals a game. She was named to the all-Northwest 1B League first team and even more impressively, was chosen to represent Lummi Nation in the fifth annual Native American All-Star games, which featured the top players from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and California tribes.

COACH DAVID JAMES: “Bri was a blast to coach these last three years. She was tough on defense, grew confident with the ball, and always made smart plays. Even more, she was a great teammate, who lifted everyone around her. She helped build this program and left her mark on the team.”
