Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #25 Rian Stephan

In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#25

Rian Stephan, senior, Lynden

WHY SHE’S #25: The three-time Class 2A state champion Lions were blessed with many outstanding athletes who also happened to be good basketball players and there was no better example than Stephan, a University of Washington volleyball commit. The 6-foot-1 forward had solid numbers — nearly 5 points and more than 3 rebounds and 2 assists a game — but it was her competitiveness and athleticism that made her a great complement to Lynden’s big names.

COACH ROB ADAMS: “Rian provided great length, toughness, and grit all season long. She was able to guard players 1 to 5 and hit timely shots for us all season. A big reason for our success was her being on the floor.”

NOTE: Thank you to the coaches and to Tyler Anderson of WhatcomPreps.com for season stats.
