#7
Ailina Rabang, senior, Lummi Nation
WHY SHE’S #7: The athletic 5-foot-5 guard played much bigger, and her steady game was the rock that the Lady Blackhawks depended on as they earned their first state trophy since 2009. Her average stat line was amazing: 14.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists (her 132 assists were most in the county), and 5.4 steals (her 158 steals were second most). In addition to being named to the all-Northwest 1B League first team for the second year in a row, the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association named her the Class 1B player (senior) of the year.
COACH DAVID JAMES: “Ailina has been one of the top players in the county throughout her high school career and put together a great senior season. She’s someone I could always count on in big moments, whether it was getting us a bucket or coming up with a big stop. Her toughness and leadership set the tone for our program, and she played a big part in building this team into what it is today. She’s going to be tough to replace.”
