Violet Fox, junior, Mount Baker
WHY SHE’S #18: When the 5-foot-8 guard transferred back to Mount Baker, she transformed a Mounties team struggling to find an identity into an overachieving squad that came within one win of reaching the Class 1A state tournament. No one worked harder on both offense (7 points and 4 assists a game) and defense (nearly 7 rebounds and more than 4 steals a game) but it was her ability to handle the pressure and run the offense despite not being a natural point guard that allowed the rest of the team to blossom.
COACH TIFFANY RAMIREZ: “Violet brings a strong work ethic and persistence to our team. She never quits on a play and consistently looks to create opportunities for her teammates. She maintains a positive attitude, is coachable, and she is also stepping into a stronger leadership role within our team.”
