#6

Grace DeHoog, senior, Nooksack Valley

WHY SHE’S #6: One of the last ties to the Pioneers’ back-to-back state titles her freshman and sophomore seasons, the 6-foot-1 post ended her career by again taking Nooksack back to Yakima. She was a double-double machine that dominated the paint, averaging almost 14 points and 16 rebounds, not to mention almost 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks a game. The Eastern Washington University commit would finish her career with 1,006 rebounds and appropriately was named to the all-Northwest Conference first team.

COACH SHANE WICHERS: “Grace anchored our defense this season and was an incredible rebounder for us. Her ability to protect the rim on defense and then score around the rim in additional to get offensive rebounds helped to make us hard to defend and made her a match-up problem for other teams. She plays with great joy as can be seen by her smiling all the time and has been a pleasure to coach.”
