#10
Danya Dykstra, senior, Lynden Christian
WHY SHE’S #10: At 5-foot-11, the versatile Dykstra was able to play both shooting guard or point guard and could rebound like a post. Perhaps the deadliest of the Lyncs’ deadly 3-point shooters, she averaged just under 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, and it was her steady leadership that helped LC come within one bucket of reaching back-to-back Class 1A state finals. She was named to the 1A state tournament second team, the WSBCA all-state seniors game, the Whatcom County Senior Classic, and the all-Northwest Conference first team.
COACH BRADY BOMBER: “Danya had a breakout season this year and will only get better as she heads off to college. She shot the ball as well as any player in the state this season. Her ability to use her length to rebound and defend made everyone around her better. Danya models humility and cares deeply about her teammates.”
