Ty Jorgenson, senior, Lynden
WHY HE’S #10: Even a broken leg couldn’t keep the 6-foot-7 forward from returning to inspire the Lions on a late-season run that took them back to the Class 2A state tournament. A high-flyer around the hoop — he would win the dunk contest at the Whatcom County Seniors Classic — who could dominate the paint on both offense and defense, Jorgenson averaged almost 12 points on 54 percent shooting from the field, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block a game. For his talent and inspiring leadership, he was named second team all-Northwest Conference.
COACH BRIAN ROPER: “I am glad that Ty had a season because after his broken leg it was in doubt for a long time. His best basketball is ahead of him. We only saw glimpses of what he can be and will be as a college basketball player.”
