Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #23 Hunter Calloway

In another amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#23

Hunter Calloway, junior, Squalicum

WHY HE’S #23: When healthy, the 6-foot-2 guard was one of the most talented players in the Northwest Conference and only an injury that kept him out for half the season is keeping him from being much higher on the list. Despite never being at 100 percent, he still averaged 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists a game and was a major factor in the Storm’s late-season drive.

COACH DAVID DUNHAM: “Hunter was our most complete player this season. He led our team in assists and finished in the top two in almost every other statistical category. He controlled the game, created opportunities for teammates, and impacted both ends of the floor while playing through an ankle injury that affected him most of the season.”
