In another amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.
#29
Gordy Bedlington, junior, Lynden
WHY HE’S #29: The 6-foot-1 point guard was the latest in a long series of Lions floor generals who are content to run the offense rather than pump up their scoring numbers. He averaged nearly 7 points and 4 assists a game but his importance went beyond stats thanks to his steadiness under pressure, his high basketball IQ, and his athleticism, which made him an asset on both ends of the court.
COACH BRIAN ROPER: “Gordy is a three-sport guy, who is a terrific athlete. He is just now finding out how good he can be.”
NOTE: Thank you to the coaches and to Tyler Anderson of WhatcomPreps.com for season stats.
