Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #21 Calvin Van Hofwegen

In another amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#21

Calvin Van Hofwegen, junior, Bellingham

WHY HE’S #21: Although known mostly for his outside shooting — and for good reason since he made 55 3-pointers — the 6-foot guard was the Bayhawks’ most complete player. He averaged nearly 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals a game, and usually had the task of guarding the other team’s best backcourt player.

COACH BRAD McKAY: “Calvin was our best defender, led us in assists, and was willing to do whatever was needed to give us the best chance to win. We’re excited to have him back one more year.”

NOTE: Thank you to the coaches and to Tyler Anderson of WhatcomPreps.com for season stats.
