In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 girls. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#27
Natalie Brewer, junior, Sehome
WHY SHE’S #27: Like many of the players on the list, Brewer’s importance went beyond numbers. She averaged 8.7 points a game and, despite being only 5-foot-7, grabbed 6 rebounds per game. More importantly, she epitomized the toughness of a height-challenged Sehome team that reached the state playoffs for the first time since 2015. She was often called upon to guard the other team’s toughest — and tallest — inside player while scoring against players nearly a half-foot taller.
COACH KIM STENSGAR: “Natalie was the third-leading scorer on our team. She was a hard worker who did all of the dirty, hard work.”
