Whatcom Hoops Top 30 Boys: #10 Jaeger Fyfe

In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.

#10

Jaeger Fyfe, sophomore, Meridian

WHY HE’S #10: Hard to believe the impact the sophomore has already made on Meridian athletics as the starting quarterback in football, starting shortstop in baseball, and leading scorer in basketball. But Fyfe is a competitor, averaging 14.6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists per game and willing to take the big shot regardless of the pressure. The 6-foot-1 wing also was named to the all-Northwest Conference second team.

COACH SHANE STACY: “Jaeger is an unbelievable competitor. Some kids are afraid to compete or don’t know how to compete. He is neither of these. Loose balls, breakaway lay-in, rebounds … he has a nose for the ball and will not shy away from failure in getting to that ball. He has an extremely rare mental make-up.”
