#20
Haylee Koetje, senior, Lynden
WHY SHE’S #20: Another player whose value went far beyond her stats, Koetje was someone the young Lions could always count on and whose consistency and composure made her teammates and team better on both ends of the court. She averaged 7.5 points and almost 4 rebounds while shooting 48.6 percent from the field and her game-winner jumper with seconds left in the Class 2A state championship game will be remembered in Lions’ lore.
COACH ROB ADAMS: “Every successful team always has what we would call a glue person — that one player who kind of just keeps everything together. Haylee was that for us this season. Her ability to guard multiple different positions, help with ball-handling, and her ability to be a threat offensively kept our opponents off guard.”
