Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #28 Kayla Washington

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#28

Kayla Washington, sophomore, Ferndale

WHY SHE’S #28: Washington was the Energizer Bunny who ran the Ferndale offense and was a menace on defense for opponents’ backcourt. The 5-foot-5 point guard averaged 9.3 points, 3.3 assists, and nearly 2 assists a game and even pulled down more than 3 rebounds a game.

COACH TERRI YOST: “Kayla makes things happen for us offensively by finding open teammates or creating opportunities for herself. She has a quick first step to the hoop or can hit a quick shot from the outside. She hit some huge shots for us this season.”
