#29

Caitlyn Richardson, senior, Squalicum

WHY SHE’S #29: Richardson was the senior leader on a Storm squad that featured five freshmen and two sophomores. The 5-foot-8 forward averaged just under 4 points and 3 rebounds a game, but her true value was in doing the dirty work on the court and lifting up her teammates both on and off the court.

COACH JENALYN BROWN: “Introduced to me as the ‘Mom’ of the team, Caitlyn truly lived into the spirit of that nickname. She cares deeply for her team creating a more fluid bridge for the youngsters that stepped into the flock this season. Being nice isn’t her only attribute. She was my most consistent player this season. She did all the little things from boxing out in text-book form to running the court. Caitlyn guarded posts usually 2 to 4 inches taller than her most of the season with little difficulty and faced up to the intense competition of our league with such skill. I am always impressed with her and so fortunate to have been her coach the last two years. She is a gift of a human being and athlete.”
