Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #18 Kate Schroeder

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#18

Kate Schroeder, sophomore, Sehome

WHY SHE’S #18: The fearless 5-foot-9 guard/forward improved so much that by the end of the season she became the Mariners’ go-to offensive weapon. She averaged 9 points, almost 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals but what made her special was her willingness and ability to play her best in the biggest games.

COACH KIM STENSGAR: “Kate was second in rebounds (101), first in assists (44), first in steals (55), led our team in free throw percentage (65 percent) and averaged over 9 points per game. This is why Kate was selected as honorable mention by the Northwest Conference coaches.”
