#17

Merritt Jensen, junior, Bellingham

WHY SHE’S #17: Despite being the focus of every opponent’s defensive attention, the Bayhawks’ 5-foot-10 forward would somehow still manage to control the paint and finish with a double-double. With great footwork and a soft touch, she averaged nearly 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists a game, and her maturing into a versatile and dependable scorer was what helped lift Bellingham to its best season in more than a half-decade.

COACH DREW McFALL: “It was clear she was one of the players who cared most about team success, while also achieving individually. She broke the single-season rebound record, yet never put her personal success above the team. I believe she can grow into a first-team all-conference player next year.”
