Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #14 Dyson Edwards

In another amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#14

Dyson Edwards, junior, Lummi Nation

WHY HE’S #14: Perhaps the best player nobody outside of Lummi Nation knows, the athletic 6-foot-1 guard could do it all. He averaged 16 points a game either shooting the 3 or slashing to the basket, 4 assists a game for the running Blackhawks, and 3 steals while often guarding the opponent’s top scorer. He was second team all-Northwest 1B League and after starting last year and this season for the 1B state champs has already scored 1,000 career points with another season to go.

COACH JEROME TOBY SR.: “Dyson was the most versatile player on Blackhawks roster. On offense, he could run the offense from every position and defensively guarded the other team’s best player. He was our team leader in steals and his length would disrupt teams offense. He will be a key returner for the Blackhawks’ 2026-27 season.”
