Nolan Wright, senior, Sehome
WHY HE’S #11: An all-state quarterback on the gridiron, the 5-foot-10 guard put together another all-star season on the court. He averaged almost 10 points and an amazing 7 assists a game and probably could have been a 15-point scorer if he wasn’t quarterbacking the Mariners on every play. But it was his uber-competitiveness and ability to rise to the occasion no matter the pressure that made him a second-team all-Northwest Conference choice. He managed to accomplish it all while dealing with nagging football injuries all season and pulling down a 4.0 grade point.
COACH BRAD JACKSON: “Nolan was a four-year warrior who was the ultimate competitor. He played exactly the same every day, whether it was practice or games. He was a winner in every sense of the word and was at his best in the toughest situations. He also played this entire season through pain, and he had some fairly significant respiratory issues. However, he was a 32-minutes-per-night guy; I rarely took him out and he fought me like crazy when I did. I believe his track record over time has solidified his place as one of the county’s most outstanding athletes.”
