Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #17 Tiana Thompson

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#17

Tiana Thompson, sophomore, Squalicum

WHY SHE’S #17: The 5-foot-8 wing might be quiet on the court but her versatile game at both ends of the court spoke loudly. She averaged nearly 9 points, more than 5 rebounds, and 2 steals a game and even though she was just one of the Storm’s bevy of talented sophomores, her young teammates could always count on her mature and steady demeanor doing whatever it took to win.

COACH JENALYN BROWN: “Tiana was our team’s leading scorer and had the most steals and rebounds per game. She was clutch for us many times this season. She is a joy to coach. I would show her how to do something once and she would be implementing it into the next game with no reminders.”
