Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #27 Charlie Ayres

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#27

Charlie Ayres, senior, Lynden

WHY HE’S #27: The epitome of Lynden’s “be a star in your role” philosophy, Ayres brought his linebacker mentality to the state champion’s defense. The 5-foot-11 guard added 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists a game, numbers he could have easily doubled on a team that needed them.

COACH BRIAN ROPER: “Charlie was the emotional leader of our team. He was a physical defender and brought toughness that we needed.”
