Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #22 Mary Lockhart

In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#22

Mary Lockhart, senior, Bellingham

WHY SHE’S #22: The 5-foot-11 post has been a varsity mainstay for the Bayhawks since her freshman season and was one of the main reasons Bellingham won more games this season than it had the previous five years. Dependable and hard-working, Lockhart averaged 10 points, 7.5 rebounds and more than 1 assist, steal, and block a game, all while helping the young Bayhawks fly higher than anyone expected.

COACH DREW McFALL: “Stepping into her senior year, she never lost her desire to learn. She made a strong impact but continued to develop her game and was instrumental to our success. She was building the confidence that she could be unstoppable.”
