Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #15 Aaliyah Bowman

In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#15

Aaliyah Bowman, senior, Blaine

WHY SHE’S #15: If the Borderites’ underdog story were made into a movie — a group of ragtag athletes not only pulls together to keep a program alive but is actually competitive in the ultra-competitive Northwest Conference — then the unassuming 5-foot-7 post would be the star. She averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds a game despite being the focal point of every opponent’s defense. Her 24 points — out of Blaine’s 34 points — in the Borderites’ season-ending playoff loss capped her outstanding prep career.

COACH SEAN MILLER: “Aaliyah was coachable, empathetic, humble, and had impeccable character.”
