In an amazing season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an outstanding player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.
#11
Brooklyn Larrabee, junior, Ferndale
WHY SHE’S #11: The athletic 5-foot-7 point guard with the killer smile — who almost didn’t turn out for basketball to focus on volleyball — turned out to be one of the league’s best, the only Whatcom player in the Northwest Conference to have more than 100 assists (118) and 100 steals (102). While running the Golden Eagles’ offense and being a one-woman press on defense, she averaged 10 points, almost 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4.5 steals a game and was named to the all-NWC second team.
COACH TERRI YOST: “Brooklyn is one of the best defenders in the league. Her lockdown defense made big plays happen for us offensively this season. She is all hustle, plays with heart, and is an amazing teammate.”
