Best Of State 2020: #3 Lynden Girls vs. Ellensburg

TOP 20 OF STATE 2020: Counting down the best games involving Whatcom County teams from March’s state tournaments.

#3 Lynden girls 62, Ellensburg 44

It wasn’t for the state title, but this might have been the most impressive game by any Whatcom County team all year as the Lions totally outclassed the team many predicted would win it all, crushing the Bulldogs in the Class 2A quarterfinals.

Lynden’s all-star senior guards led the Lions’ dominating performance. Ruby VanderHaak had 18 points, including five of her “dagger” 3-pointers; Liv Tjoelker had 14 points and three more 3-pointers; and Keylie Hershey had 12 points and a team-high 5 assists.
