The Pioneers rallied from nine points down in the fourth quarter to take the lead with 40 seconds left, but couldn’t hold on and lost to the Leopards in Wednesday’s final opening-round game of the Class 1A state tournament.
The loss couldn’t take away from a great season by Nooksack Valley, which finished 20-8 despite having only one senior on the roster.
