TOP 20 OF STATE 2020: Counting down the best games involving Whatcom County teams from March’s state tournaments.

#5 Lynden boys 72, Lindbergh 58 

While they just missed an unprecedented third straight state title, the Lions still went out winners with a dominating victory on Saturday to claim third place in the Class 2A state tournament.

Junior center Liam Hanenberg and senior forward Brock Heppner led the way, combining for 38 points and 26 rebounds and earning second-team all-state tournament honors. It was Lynden’s fifth straight top-three finish and 12th trophy in 15 years.
