A controversial call at the buzzer turned what would have been one of the county’s top state moments into a disappointing loss for the Blackhawks, who fell in Friday’s semifinal at the Class 1B state tournament.
The exciting game between highly ranked rivals came down to a free throw after a call on a desperation halfcourt shot. While the Blackhawks showed they deserved to be one of the top two teams in the state, all of Lummi Nation was frustrated when they weren’t able to prove it in overtime.
