For three quarters, it was one of the Lions’ best games of the season. But a nightmare fourth quarter left top-ranked Lynden stunned in Friday’s Class 2A semifinal.
Lynden led by 14 going into the final period, but was outscored 29-9 by the hot-shooting Vikings, who would go on to win the state championship. The loss ended the Lions’ dream of a third straight state title.
